When the Youth Services Haunted House closed its doors, a passionate group of students refused to let the scares end. Born from a shared love of haunted house design, Burnham Manor was established in 2023 to keep the Halloween spirit alive—and to continue supporting local charities through a thrilling night of terror.
Burnham Manor was founded by J.P. Karlin, who serves as Co-Creative Director and Co-Technical Coordinator. To bring the manor's terrifying vision to life, he quickly assembled a dedicated core team: Co-Creative Director and Co-Technical Coordinator Liam Durbin, Assistant Creative Director Wesley Ward, and Second Assistant Patrick Finn.
What makes this haunted house truly unique is the passion of the students. We are a 100% student-created and student-led haunted house, bringing together a talented team of elementary, middle, and high schoolers. From months of intense preparation to the thrilling nights we open our doors, these young creators do it all. Through immersive acting, clever sound design, and dedicated teamwork, the students are the true heartbeat that makes the haunted house come alive.
At Burnham Manor, your screams help the community! After the haunted house closes each season, 100% of our net proceeds are donated to Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook and The Debra Gelfand Foundation. We hope to add new community focused charities as our event grows.
